This week I'm working on enhancing my charts extension. First stop: Metrics Chart. 

Now you can view a metric for a given time period and compare that metric to the previous time period. Also, I've added the ability to aggregate by sum, max, min, or average. 

This can be helpful if you want to add a chart to Notion for:

- Max expense this quarter

- Total spent this week

- Average expense this month

Today I learned about parallel routes in NextJS and used it to update my syncs page.

Over the next few days, I'm going to take a step back from building new features and will focus on improving current ones. 

I have a feature called "Rules Extension" where users can set rules to auto-categorize their transactions based on certain attributes. When someone enables this extension, I originally dropped them on the rules page. Only 25% of people dropped on this page go on to create a rule 😩 

Now, I provide a walkthrough of the feature and guide the user on how to set up and run their first rule. (see video)

Hopefully, this improves my conversion from 25% to at least 50%. 

This accounting feature is going to take more work than I originally thought 😩. Oh well, one day at a time. Today, I added the ability to create a manual journal entry.
