Spent the last few days writing a Cloudflare R2 video uploader for Cap in Rust.

Today I'm getting to one of the final pieces of the puzzle in my quest to release the first early version by end of December... the editor/share page in the web app!

Well excited for this launch man, great hustle.

Cap web app looking cute. Today's focus is to try out different streaming services, e.g. Cloudflare R2, Mux, S3.

Today I'm working on the Cap web app, which automatically opens after you finish recording in the Cap desktop app. First priority is the Cap editor.

Still aiming to get the first version out by end of December.

Let's get it 🫡

Two of the biggest pieces of functionality done and out of the way!

Now working on the video editor/preview app, which you're automatically taken to after recording. It's also the place where you can copy your video's shareable Cap URL, and in the future, add things like captions 🔥

sounds exciting! :D

will the main functionality of Cap only be available via a Desktop App? or do you also plan to provide the same functionality via the Web App?

Thank you! So all of the screen recording part is done via the desktop app, and then the editing/sharing/receiving comments etc is done from the web app!

makes sense! looking forward to give it a try once it's ready

Today I’m working on some UI stuff for Cap. The past week I’ve been heads down building a cross-platform, Rust powered screen recording engine.

I’m getting the first version of Cap out by end of December to early access users. Sign up here to be on the list: Cap.so

So excited!

just signed up for the waitlist, looking forward to using your product.

Looks good Richie, I currently use Loom, but have signed up for wait list on Cap and look forward to having a play when it's ready.

Amazing! Glad to have you onboard!

Just signed up for early access! 🚀

Signed up! Curious to see and test it out

Love the design! Any sneak peaks to what the app UI will look like?
