Hello there 👋

First time poster, first time Indiemaker!

This year, I've been building a new writing tool called Pilcrow.

There are LOTS of writing tools out there. Google Docs, Notion, Craft etc.

They're used by millions. They make great company wikis. You can collaborate with your colleagues. They even work as websites. Fuck, you can run your entire company on them!

What makes Pilcrow different?

These tools are great at everything, except actually helping you write.

Writing is just a means to an end. It's something you do to get somewhere else.
All of these tools started as great writing tools, but over the years they've become unloved, bloated, and clunky.

They're not built for you and me. They're built to sell enterprise deals to pay back their VC overlords.

I don't want just somewhere I *can* write, but somewhere that actually *helps* me write.

The very act of writing helps you think. It helps you understand. It helps you exist. The very act of typing, and creating glyphs on a screen, slices through the thicket to uncover the universal truth that you've been trying to find.

And that's what Pilcrow does. It's a writing tool that helps you actually write.

It does this using:

⚡ Keyboard-first, distraction free block editor
🤖 "Quiet" AI assistance to help you edit, research, and create
🧹 Linting picks up errors, slips, and mistakes
💾 Versioning - Similar to Git, you can create multiple drafts and merge them
✂️ Capture and stash snippets so you don't loose your ideas
🎁 and loads more..

I'm running a selective beta (AI is expensive and it's just me out here). Any feedback or interest is welcome.
