Going to be releasing the visibility update in the next couple of days.
When this update goes out:
- Profiles will become public
- Posts and associated comments will become public
- Community posts will become public
- Makers page will become public
Only invited IndieMaker members will be able to interact and engage with the above content. This was always the plan post beta, I think this is an important update to improve discoverability and remove the barrier to information, especially for the maker community in general the barrier to information should be low to none to help us all learn and improve.
It will allow sharing of content to Twitter/X without the redirect to join, but the need to join to engage should hopefully keep content/quality high

I think this is a great idea 😄!
In the future, an option to post in "private", or to put your profile private would be great though :).

Yeah totally agree Thomas, I could see the want/need to keep a post to just your followers eg "stealth startup" etc. Same for the profiles I could see the want to keep a profile private to just a select few.

Public pages would be really good for sharing the platform to people external to IndieMaker, good OG images and layout would really help as well I think

With public you mean, that the listed things can be viewed by people who did not sign up yet right?

Yeah, pages can be viewed by anyone not signed up by can only engage as a logged in (invited) member.
